Mya's Mount Erebus Report

JORDYN - THANK YOU FRUCOR

Thank You FRUCOR
Kia ora my name is Jordyn and I was one of the specially chosen children who was fortunate to go to the Frucor Leadership Course.

The Frucor Leadership Course was amazing, it was so cool meeting Sonny Bill Williams and it was even better because we got to see one of our old school teacher’s  Aimee, she was just like always, awesome.

Thank you so much Roz you are like a hero, you made everyone happy because the day was perfect and you're a hero because we got to meet a celebrity and one of our old teachers.

I would like to say thank you to Mighty Matt, Crazy Coop, Bubbly Brenda and Happy Hayley, Bridget and Keri. I would love to thank all the people who put all that time and effort into that day, it was amazing. Thank you so much for being a part of our Edmund Hillary School family.

Susan's Recount on the Museum Visit

Do you know anything about the Auckland Museum?
Well I know heaps because I have just visited the Museum with my school.  I was overly excited and I wish to go back again.
Something that was awesome was that some of the extinct creatures that Room 9 researched were in there.

As I started to adventure around the museum I began to see the Maori weapons and I thought of my ancestors and how they fought back in the early days. It was very interesting especially if you have heard a lot of stories, for example back in the early days they would fight with poi, patu and Maori spears, also women would be involved.

What do you know about volcanoes?
When I was searching for the volcano room I saw other schools exploring there. I discovered a room that was entertaining and I read the instructions and it said wait 12 minutes before you can enter.  So we waited and we eventually entered.  We watched the film and what amazed me was that Rangitoto island was made by a huge volcanic eruption.  As we experimented we found out that we were on the side of the volcano. My group went in the classroom and we were taught about the volcanoes in Auckland.

It was a tiring day but it was the best and I loved it so much. I would like to thank the staff for organizing that wonderful day and I would like to go back again. Thank you to the parent helpers.
